EliA tests, designed to run on Phadia Laboratory Systems*, give reliable results that support primary care physicians as well as specialists in making a diagnosis, sooner, and therefore in providing optimal patient management. We currently offer autoantibody tests for more than 20 clinical indications in the fully automated EliA system.

How do they work?
EliA tests are produced at the Centre of Excellence in Freiburg, Germany. Here, advanced techniques are used such as recombinant gene technology to develop the latest in standardised, precise, reliable and easy-to-use diagnostic tests. To ensure the highest quality of autoantibody test, it is crucial to use very pure, conformationally correct antigens. We use human recombinant proteins and synthetic peptides whenever it increases antigenicity and thus sensitivity and specificity.
The molecule on the solid phase reacts with the specific antibody in the patient serum sample.
After washing away non-specific antibody, enzyme-labelled antibodies against the antibody are added to form a complex
After incubation, unbound enzyme-labelled antibodies is washed away and the bound complex is then incubated with a developing agent.
The higher the fluorescence, the more specific antibody is present in the sample.
